SUMMARY:Glamm Gram - Raising Money for Mammograms
DESCRIPTION:“Keep It Sharp.” \nThat was the mantra by which my daughter\, Marcia Paige\, lived her life. It’s rooted in the Bible verse\, Proverbs 27:17 – “As iron sharpens iron\, so one friend sharpens another.”  \nThis year marks the 10th year of Marcia’s transitioning to her heavenly home. In honor of her legacy that seeks to encourage and hold each other accountable – or as she would say\, “Let’s Keep Each Other Sharp” the Bynum and Paige families are bringing the Biennial Glamm Gram fundraiser event to Durham\, NC!  Marcia worked with Glamm Gram on many fundraisers while she lived in Texas\, partnering with various charities that focus on breast cancer research.  These successful fundraiser events resulted in resources to provide free mammograms and financial assistance to women that could not afford it.  Glamm Gram continues to honor Marcia for her work and accomplishments since her passing in 2013. \nGlamm Gram is working with my family to assist in planning this fundraiser event  – here in my hometown – to bring education\, awareness\, and resources to women with the purpose of maintaining and achieving health and wellness. We selected Sisters Network Triangle NC (SNTNC) as the charity to partner with this year.  SNTNC is an affiliate of the national African American breast cancer survivor organization\, Sisters Network® Inc. This 501(c)(3) charity is committed to increasing local and national attention on the devastating impact that breast cancer has in the African American community. \nPartnering with SNTNC is in line with Marica’s dream of beating cancer. As a nationwide motivational speaker\, she spoke often on early detection and living your best life while battling cancer. She not only helped with fundraisers she also ensured that women were able to feel good about themselves when they looked in the mirror by gifting them appointments to have their lashes\, eyebrows and wigs done. She often said\, “It’s the little things that make people feel special when supporting them on their journey.” \nMarcia also assisted many women with career development\, financial stability\, and entrepreneurship – oftentimes using her own financial resources. \nWe all have witnessed the great accomplishments that have been made and continue to be made in breast cancer research.  Through this fundraiser\, we are asking for your support so that continued research will be possible in finding a cure for this dreaded disease – Breast Cancer. \nTo donate to this year’s fundraiser\, please click this link https://sisterstriangle.org/campaigns/mpaigekis/\, scroll down and complete the form in its entirety. \nYou could also make a donation via check\, payable to: Sisters Network Triangle NC and mail your check to Allie Bynum 4 Lynnwood Valley Court\, Durham NC\, 27703\, by October 20\, 2023 \nBy following the above instructions to donate\, you will help us keep track of the donation to SNTNC in her memory.
